Faith is belief in action. You may believe the Purple People Bridge will stay secure and let you cross the Ohio River. Faith, acting on that belief, is walking across it. How have you been walking by faith this week? It may be by spending time with God every morning, believing its important, believing God hears you. It may be responding to the prompting of God's spirit (experienced as a quiet "nudge" in your heart) to call someone, write a letter, share your faith, take a risk, stop a behavior. Actually doing those things is how we grow in faith. To hear or remind yourself of other ways to walk by faith click HERE for reflections by NorthChurch's preachers.
Congregations and believers in Northside have been called to pray for our neighborhood and the Greater Cincinnati area this week. We are continuing to focus our prayers on the following topics:
Today: Justice & righteousness in race relations
Thurs.: Decrease in violence & infant mortality
Fri.: Elimination of poverty
Sat.: Northside (prayer walk)
Everyone is invited to participate in the prayer walk on Saturday, May 13 from 9-10AM beginning and ending at Hoffner Park.
NorthChurch is invited to once again support CAIN at the 2017 Hunger Walk on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29th. You can join the Northside Walks with CAIN team or make a donation by clicking HERE. North's goal is to raise $1,000 toward the anticipated total of $40,000 for CAIN. The Hunger walk is the most cost effective way to raise money for CAIN. 100% of all contributions received translate into vouchers to be used to "spend" for food at the Freestore Foodbank. $1,000 = 2.5 tons of food!
